Album a Day: This Mortal Coil - Filigree & Shadow

Most bands careers taken an entire collection of albums to establish themselves as legendary. This Mortal Coil has three albums and are rightly put on many bands "most influential" lists. This middle album from 4AD Records' supergroup is no exception. It's easy to get lost in over an hour of movements, thoughts, soundscapes, and wonders. Yet this album doesn't always fit in to the "dream pop" label the band was given unless your dreams are downright haunting (which come to think of it many of mine are). This Mortal Coil has easily become a band that people who weren't around for during their time can easily pass as "oh I've ever of them". To those people I'd like to punch you in the face just so you have to stop and enjoy. Favorite tracks include: The Jeweller, Tarantula, My Father, Morning Glory, I Want To Live, and Alone
