Album a Day: Warsaw - Warsaw
This is a collection of songs from the members of Joy Division before they were Joy Division in their former band Warsaw (in reference to the song Warszawa co-written by David Bowie and Brian Eno). Although this is an unofficial release, this is a really tight CD and somebody took great care in putting it together. It doesn't get much more raw than the sound of Joy Division, and this is perhaps about as raw as it gets. It's really interesting to listen to a more punk sound from the boys from Manchester and early versions of songs like Transmission and Shadowplay. Any fan of Joy Division (or music in general) should give this a listen. Favorite tracks include: The Drawback, No Love Lost, Transmission, Warsaw, and At A Later Date
